Challenge Slamming

I thought more AutoLoggers knew about this, but I get quite a few AutoLoggers asking me if there is cheating going on in the challenges. AutoLoggers will site 20 or 30 votes coming in the last few hours of a challenge. This is called "challenge slamming." Challenge slamming is one of the many tactics when challenging someone.

How it works:

Challenger A and Challenger B are challenging each other. After a few days, and with only one hour left in the challenge, the two challengers are only off by a few votes. It looks like it will be a close finish... or will it?

Challenger A posts a bulletin and sends messages to his friends at the last minute for votes. Other AutoLoggers see the request and vote for Challenger A. Within 45 minutes Challenger A is up by 25 votes. With only 15 minutes left Challenger B simply can't catch up and loses the challenge.

I know some of you do challenges just for fun and some of you take challenges very seriously. If you take challenges very seriously you should do some research on your potential opponent. Look at his/her record. What types of challenges are they strong in? What types of challenges are they weak in? Does the user have a winning record? Does the user have a losing record? How can you word the challenge to your advantage?

Doing a little research before accepting every challenge will go a long way in helping you have a winning challenge record.

I'M GLAD YOU POST THIS BLOG "ALEX" AS YOU KNOW THE LAST CHALLENGER ACCUSE ME OF CHEATING 40 VOTES. HE POSTED A BULLETIN ON THAT AND IT CHANGE THE WHOLE CHALLENGE AROUND. I DON'T TAKE CHALLENGE SERIOUS. IF I WIN , I WIN, IF I LOSE, I LOSE , BUT WE DO HAVE SOME PEOPLE THAT ARE TOO CHILDISH, SHOULDN'T BE EVEN COMPETITING .

I agree with Luis. If I win, then I win. If I lose, then I lose. I don't post multiple bulletins about how people should vote for me in my challenges. I don't send my challenger a message to tell them that they are cheating if I am losing. Some Autologgers just need to get a grip; the ones who are "challenge slamming" and the ones who accuse others of cheating when they are not.

Well I take them with a grain of salt!Yes while it is great for your car to be recognized for it's abilities, looks etc. And it is always great to be a winner,I dont need anyones reassurance to tell me my car is awesome! It proves itself whenever I take it to the track!I just do my challenges for fun so no biggy!Hope that doesn't sound crude but that is just how I feel about it;] My car has nothing to prove to anyone but me;]

yes I saw this happen in the potm feb, I was in lead all of last day then all of a sudden when voting closed and tallies totaled I was over 5 % of votes behind, not saying anything about cheating, but came as a BIG surprise.

I do take them seriously, but I don't have the "win at all costs" mentality. Winning and losing are just part of the game. You winning or losing is based off of what people think of your car. I have never and will never ask for votes. If I win, great. If I lose, I move on. It's a friendly rivalry based on opinions. You should man up and win and lose graceously.
